AirAsia - Paying diviend on the card?

Something to cheer upon for those having AirAsia (5099) stock in their portfolio. According to Tony Fernandes, AirAsia is in a better position as they have solved some issues within the group.

Fernandes didn’t elaborate much on the uncertainties but he said that AirAsia, the airline company was right not paying dividends up to this point because it wanted to build up its cash.

EPF - More members opt for withdrawals for unit trust plan

A large number of EPF (Employees Provident Fund) members have opted to withdraw their retirement savings for investment in unit trusts.

The EPF withdrawal amount for the first quarter 2010 rose 43.26% to RM911.15 mil from RM636.01mil withdrawn in the corresponding period last year.

Penangites will enjoy 20% toll rebate using Touch n Go cards

Good news for all Penang folks. There will be a 20% rebate on the Penang Bridge toll using Touch n Go cards.

How much can i safe?

To enjoy this Touch n Go rebate, motorcyclists, will save RM0.30 where the price will reduce from RM1.40 to RM1.10, while other users will get to save RM1.40 from RM7.00 to RM5.60

Where to get Touch n Go cards?

Touch N Go office is situated at the Penang Bridge office which is open from 9am to 5pm on weekdays.

How they can proof that i am entitled?

Motorists need to produce MyKads at the bridge counter next to the toll plaza as proof of their address. Those working in Penang can also enjoy this 20% rebate but must show an acknowledgment letter from their employer as proof.

Conclusion

This is a very good move to lessen some burden faced by Malaysians especially those passing by the Penang bridge on a daily basis. Not only that, this will encourage more people to visit Penang and also encourage Penangites that are working outstation to come home more frequently. Waste no time, get your Touch n Go cards at the Penang Bridge office and enjoy the cool 20% rebate.

Latest Base Lending Rate (BLR) effective May 2010

Take note Malaysians. Effective May 2010, the latest Base Lending Rate (BLR) for most banks in Malaysia will be at 6.05% per annum.  The BLR increased another 25 points from 5.80% earlier.

Usually when BLR increase is a sign that the economy is recovering. I am not pretty sure whether the economy in Malaysia is really improving but on the surface it looks like it.
