New price structures for petrol in Malaysia

Written on January 7, 2010 – 3:40 am | by Kampung Boy |

Another new implementation will take place in Malaysia starting May 1st, 2010. After the new credit card tax of RM 50, the government will have a new rule on the price of the petrol.

Currently all Malaysians have the privileged of enjoying the 30sen subsidy per liter. The current price of RON095 petrol is Rm1.80 compared to the actual price which is RM2.10

So what’s new install for all Malaysians and non Malaysians?

  • The subsidized petrol will be based on the car engine capacity
  • Foreign cars will have to pay RM2.10 per liter
  • Not all Malaysians will get fuel subsidy
  • High income earners will not enjoy the fuel subsidy

Conclusion

I am sure it will get very messy when this new implementation takes place. Still not quite sure the reasons of the government doing this but it won’t help much on saving money for the nation.

There are many other ways government can save money for the nation like stop those looting and unnecessary waste of public money and funds.

I wonder how those who voted for the BN for the scraps of development thrown at them feel now.

This way definitely will boost up sales of proton and perodua. Whatever it is, I think i will also only afford to buy local made car. :)

I still can’t get the true picture on how is this policy going to go about. How does petrol station know the car capacity? How about a Malaysian owns multiple cars? …. Many many question marks.

Ya, I agree with Kampung Boy. It will be very messy on 1st May. Wait and see.

I don’t know why the government should put all Malaysians into such trauma? Tak lain kerja meh?

There are so many things that they can do but they are just giving us more headaches! -_-

Why can’t all local car enjoy the benefit while all foreign cars pay more? Isn’t that simple?

Why can’t all local car enjoy the benefit while all foreign cars pay more? Isn’t that simple?-> why should foreign car owners pay more? after all they have already paid hefty taxes just to purchase them and at the same time through their taxes paid thru the roof to support the rot, inefficiency n corruption that supports the local auto industry?

from my opinion, maybe the people who drives the expensive have their own status and importance for example the people called Dato, datuk, tan sri and so much more.

does not the government should think the people who make below than 1k a month.

maybe the word of the people who are rich getting richer and the poorer are getting poorer
