Bank Swift Code is important when you need to receive or sent money to someone overseas.

The SWIFT code is useful as every single bank has it on codes. This will fasten the transaction of transferring of money as the banks will know directly which bank to send money to from the SWIFT Code.

For European banks, IBAN Code is used. For all Malaysia banks, SWIFT Code is used to identify the banks.

General SWIFT Code for Public Bank :-

PBBEMYKLXXX

Actually by just putting PBBEMYKL as the swift code is ample but the XXX is at times used to determine the branch of the bank. It’s ok either to put PBBEMYKLXXX or PBBEMYKL. No worries on that…

Like for Maybank, the Swift Code is MBBEMYKLXXX or MBBEMYKL. If you want a more direct Swift Code to a Maybank Branch in Kepong is, MBBEMYKLKEP.

Seriously, we need not get too direct with those Swift Codes. The general swift code will be ample.

List of SWIFT Code of Local Banks in Malaysia :-

Affin Bank SWIFT Code : PHBMMYKL
Alliance Bank Berhad SWIFT Code : MFBBMYKL
Ambank Berhad SWIFT Code : ARBKMYKL
Bank Simpanan Nasional SWIFT Code : BSNAMYKL
CIMB Bank SWIFT Code : CIBBMYKL
Citibank Berhad Malaysia SWIFT Code : CITIMYKL
EON Bank SWIFT Code : EOBBMYKL
Hong Kong Bank Malaysia Berhad SWIFT Code : HBMBMYKL
Hong Leong Bank SWIFT Code : HLBBMYKL
Maybank SWIFT Code : MBBEMYKL
OCBC Bank Berhad SWIFT Code : OCBCMYKL
Public Bank SWIFT Code : PBBEMYKL
RHB Bank Berhad SWIFT Code : RHBBMYKL
Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia Berhad SWIFT Code : SCBLMYKL
United Overseas Bank Berhad SWIFT Code : UOVBMYKL

Hope my list of SWIFT Codes will be able to help you peeps out there. Search SWIFT Codes of all international banks from the SWIFT Search Tools. Enjoy…

From a high 1300 to a almost breaking a 1000 level mark.

One might wonder, WOW is this the best time for me to buy equity since it has dropped almost 250 points? Cheap sales ma…

I am sure many of you are stuck with stocks at CI 1100 to 1200 range and looking for opportunity to average down.

My advice to all is not to catch the falling knife at the current moment as you will end up like the picture.

I am pretty sure our good friend KLCI will plunge lower due to some reasons. How much lower? I can’t tell…

Here are some the reasons for a meltdown :-

Political turmoil in Malaysia (916 , UMNO, etc)

Financial crisis in USA (Sub Prime)

Lehman Brothers (declared bankrupt) - Today Lehman tomorrow…?

Many other reasons but this are few of the main reasons. Genting at RM 5.00 is cheap? Tenaga at RM 6.70 is cheap? Will be cheaper once all the dirt comes out from the carpet.

Moral of the story, Do not catch the falling knife! You will get hurt…

Let me share a product which i personally subscribed where we can save another 7% on our petrol in Malaysia.

As we know, the government had dropped the petrol price till RM 2.55 from a super hike of RM 2.70 per liter.

My friend came across a product by Standard Chartered and he shared with me and i think it’s best for me to share with all off you out there as we can save an extra 7% on petrol.

Yeah, i mean it! Another 7% discount with acceptable terms and conditions. This product is by Standard Chartered and it’s called the e$aver Account.

Basically the e$aver account is like a normal savings account by Standard Chartered. There is no minimum in opening this account.

Besides having the savings account, you will be issued a Debit Master Card where we can use to swipe at petrol kiosk to redeem our 7% petrol rebate. Might sound crazy, but it’s really at 7% discount.

Standard Chartered Debit Master Card

The terms that we need to adhere for this 7% petrol discount :-

We need to have money in our e$aver account. It is a debit card not a credit card.

For every transaction, Standard Chartered will lien RM 200 from our e$aver account (Will explain further)

When i was at the counter opening my account with my fren, the officer kept on telling on there is a ‘lein’ of RM 200. I kept wondering, what on earth is that lien? He pronounced the word lien like lend. Really make me confuse.

After asking further i finally understand what he really means.

Opening a RM 500 e$aver account with Standard Chartered and pump a RM 100 worth or petrol :-

RM 500 - RM 200 = RM 300 (Lien RM 200)

One my think, why i used RM 200 instead of RM 100? The RM 200 is a lien by Standard Chartered to your e$aver account. Every transaction will be deducted with RM 200 lien.

Not to worry as this lien of RM 200 is taken from you until the transaction is completed which takes around 1 week. Once it’s completed the balance RM 100 will be send back to your account.

The 7% Petrol rebate will be credited to your account every end of the month.

Opening a RM 300 into e$aver account and pump RM 100 worth of petrol :-

RM 300 - RM 200 = RM 100 (Balance in e$aver account)

For instance you make another petrol pump worth RM 50 the next day, your card will show error because of insufficient balance in your account. As per transaction, minimum must have RM 200 balance for the lein.

Advantages of Standard Chartered e$aver Account :-

7% Petrol Rebate

2.5% per annum interest rate with daily interest

No minimum deposit for opening an e$aver account

Disadvantages of Standard Chartered e$aver Account :-

RM 200 lien (Personally still ok for me)

RM 8 annual fee for the Debit Master Card charge

Valid from 7th July to 31st December 2008

Although until end of the year only, but for those heavy petrol user it’s still worth while. 7% man is a lot! My advice just put in RM 1000 into your e$aver account and be rest assured you won’t have error while pumping petrol at the kiosk. Unless la you are the super duper heavy petrol user.

Enjoy the 7% discount ya! Oh yeah, not too forget my 5 Savvy Ways to Combat Petrol Hike in Malaysia …

Fixed Deposit or better know as FD has never been my favorite kind of investment. The main reason FD didn’t made to my favorite list is due to the Return Of Investment (ROI) which ranges from 3% to 4%.

I guess i totally oppose my buddy’s post Irwan, on Fixed Deposit as being a safe investment. No hard feelings ya bud, just to keep you on your toes.

I regard Fixed Deposit as a silent killer because of the low ROI compared to the inflation that we are facing. By putting money in the FD, one is loosing money instead of making a return out of it.

Let’s take a FD ROI at 4% while the inflation at 8% (Appoxiamate inflation according to Bank Negara). In short one is loosing 4% per annum by putting money in FD.

At 8% inflation rate one is loosing 4% per annum without realizing it.

If one invest RM 50k into FD
With The Rule 72 Calculation :-

72/4 = 18 years

In short, if one invest in FD with 4% return and at 8% inflation, by 18 years your investment in the FD will become RM 25k.

That is why i name the Fixed Deposit as the silent killer where we won’t realize that we are loosing more then we are gaining. Don’t forget, i only take 8% as the inflation rate. Do you think inflation is that low? ^^

So think wisely before putting all your money into the FD.

Advantage

Disadvantages

Many third world country clauses

Don’t pay out efficiently

Will bring you to court for fun

Only can claim while working. If you meet an accident on the way to ‘mamak’ shop instead of going home then i only can say this 3 words to you - God Bless You!

How to pay less for SOCSO?

As we all know, nobody can run away from contributing to SOCSO. If you have a new employee under you, register them with SOCSO and pay the most minimum amount for that employee to SOCSO. Must buy an external insurance coverage for your employee (RM 80 per year which is RM 6.67 per month according to my friend)

Do the right thing. You wouldn’t want to see your employee suffer without money when he or she meets and accident. Besides that, you wouldn’t want your employees family members suffer during the hard times.

So to counter all these, buy them an external insurance policy for your own good (employers) and for your employees good as well.

Real more on SOCSO horror stories as they blood suck like vampires.

It was not mend to be for the nation as Chong Wei went down tamely to Lin Dan 12-21, 8-21 in 39 minutes to Lin Dan,

Anyhow, here are my personal views on why Chong Wei fared so poorly against Lin Dan in the finals :-

1] Nervous
From the word go, you could see that Chong Wei was nervous. He himself admitted that against Hyun-Ill he was also nervous. What more in the finals where Chong Wei carries the hope of 28 million Malaysians?

2] Pressure
I guess the pressure of becoming the first Malaysian to win the Olympic gold medal was too much for Chong Wei to handle

3] Mentally not prepared
The title says it all.

4] Too many unforced errors
Chong Wei gave away far too many cheap points to Lin Dan. Super Dan need not earned his points but was given free to him.

5] Cautious approach
Chong Wei tried to play safe most of the time by just retrieving the shots rather then dictating the match or trying to be the aggressor. By doing so against the best, there will only be one outcome, disappointment.

All in all, Chong Wei did well to enter the finals but i was a little disappointed with his display in the finals. He didn’t go down fighting but just gave way far too easily. Only a silver to show from badminton this time around.

Congratulations to Lin Dan for being the first top seed to win the Olympic Gold Medal in Badminton in Beijing Olympic Games.

For those of you who missed out the final match on TV, here is the Lee Chong Wei and Lin Dan badminton match video clip.

To be honest, i didn’t really know the legal age to be investing in stock market was 18 instead of 21.

So i was like 3 years late. When i was very young, my parents was already in the equity markets. I got to know more about it when i asked my parents to explain to me on what they were doing that time. There were times my parents made a lot in a single transaction but of course there are days they lost as well. Not every Sunday right? (Bo tak kang leh pai) ^^

i always told myself that one day i am going to rake in millions from the share market. Still having this childhood dream though.

Anyhow, ASIAEP was the first stock that i personally own when i started investing in stock market. You will laugh when i will share with you peeps out there on steps that i took in investing on my first stock.

Steps taken in purchasing my first stock :-

Took out the Star Biz Times

Just look at all the counter NAMES that were available that time

I found that ASIAEP had a NICE name. (How noob i was)

Didn’t know what MESDAQ was also that time (ASIAEP in the MESDAQ Board)

Went to ASIAEP website to research more on the company

I felt good on what i see on their website (Too easily satisfied that time)

Without wasting much time called my remisier

Purchased 5000 shares at 30 odd cents

The conclusion is that i lost some money from this counter when i sold it around 28 or 29 cents. Can’t really remember the exact value but it was surely a LOL experience for me in the share market! Siow eh, loose money still can LOL… But one thing is for sure, it was a good lesson learned from my first stock experience.

How about you peeps out there? Any first time experience to share around?

Today i went to meet my friend who is a tyre boss shop. While we were drinking coffee suddenly he was talking how crappy SOSCO was.

Social Security Organisation or in short where we all know it as SOSCO. I guess many will not give a damm about what SOSCO really stands for as it is not doing enough to protect the working class people in Malaysia.

SOCSO is some sort like an insurance company which protects the working group of people in Malaysia. Yeah, as far as i know, each and every local employee must buy SOSCO. CRAP!!!

While drinking, suddenly my friend shared with me a horror story involving SOCSO. SOCSO apparently wanted to reject the claims of S. Vadivelan as he had an accident while going to have a meal after work.

I really felt pity for Vadi (in short) as he is disabled due to a spinal injury from an accident. Guess what was the argument by SOCSO for not wanting to pay Vadi?

- Vadi turned right to go to foodstall instead of turning left to go home
- Vadi met the accident while he was away from his work

I was like stunned on what kind of mentality SOCSO can have. Come on man, people already disabled and couldn’t work and SOCSO got the guts to bring this issue to the court and drag this case for like 8 long years? You must be kidding me man…

What’s the point buying insurance and this insurance is compulsory to buy with so many clauses on it? Isn’t this ridiculous? Like that, better we get insurance from companies like Prudential, Great Eastern, and many more. These companies don’t ask much. As long as you are disabled, they pay you straight. No questions asked!

Thank God the judge still has some heart in him and finally Vadi will be compensated by SOCSO. Yeah, after 8 long years…

This is just one of the HORROR stories created by SOCSO and there are many more. I am sure all the bosses out there will know better. In short we deserve better as we are not getting it for free. We are paying. TAK NAK to SOCSO!

So it’s your call whether SOCSO is protecting workers or blood sucking them? I say they are blood suckers worst then vampires! I would not mind if employers that don’t pay SOCSO but not EPF. I would not mind if employers don’t pay SOCSO but please do make sure you buy a basic insurance coverage for your employees.

I am in that bracket. A 41% increase on petrol isn’t really helping. I am sure more Barang Naik will come after this petrol hike.

So i would love to share 5 savvy ways to combat petrol hike.

Carpool

Carpool whenever you can. Either going to work or shopping malls, max the usage the number of passengers in a car. Take turns to carpool and dont be a parasite to your friends.

Use smaller vehicles

It is not a wise time to change car if you already have one. Be contented and thankful with what you have. Cars are used to bring you from one point to another and not to show off.

Drive slower

If you are used to driving at 100 km/h, try driving at 90 km/h. Driving slightly slower reduces petrol consumption.
Not only that, it might save lives as well when we drive slower. Ingatilah orang yang tersayang.

Say no to drive through

The time taken to wait at drive through will cost you to burn unnecessary petrol. Park your car and go to the restaurant will save you more time and of course petrol as well. To all those McD kaki’s take note ya!

Don’t sit idle

If you are waiting for you friend, don’t let the car engine run and burn unnecessary petrol. It is just like taking RM 1, burning it and throwing it out of the window.

There you go, my 5 savvy ways to combat petrol hike in Malaysia. Hope this money saving tips will be beneficial to all.
