Today i made another purchase of FAJAR-WA after my purchase on Genting Malaysia Berhad (GENM).
With the last adition of FAJAR-WA into my portfolio, i have total of 8000 shares of FAJAR-WA at an average price of RM0.525 and will be hoping to add somemore if i have extra cash.
The financial highlights of FAJAR-WA will be out by end month and we will be keeping our fingers crossed for a good showing from FAJAR.

Genting Malaysia or in short GENM (4715) is buying back it shares heavily. The past one week, GENM had collected 14,000,000 shares back to its treasury.

GENM share buyback :-
19/8/2010 : 4,900,000 shares
20/8/2010 : 4,100,000 shares
23/8/2010 : 5,000,000 shares
Total : 14,000,000 shares

Rough PE calculation for GENM is :-

EPS for Q1 = 4.78sen
Estimated total PE for for 4Q : 4.78×4 = 19.12sen
Estimated PE for GENM : RM308/19.12 = 16.12

The PE for GENM is slightly higher but it’s around the average of the industry but what amazes me most is the share buyback by the directors of the company.

I have bought 1500 shares of GENM at RM3.08. I used the money that i got from the sales of MAXIS the other day. As usual i will put my transaction history to show that i did what the talk.

Conclusion

Fundamentally sound company. Riding together with the share buyback of the directors of GENM. Will they ride me to heaven or holland? Only time will tell.

I am purchasing foreign stocks such as stocks from Singapore and US using DMG Partners from Singapore.

DMG Partners is a sister company for OSK188 in Malaysia. I opened a DMG Partners account so that i do not need to pay brokerage fees to OSK and also to DMG Partners.

I am not too sure how much is their charges when i purchase foreign stocks because i am not a Short Term(Contra) investor.

I am a fundamental and long term share investor so that little brokerage fees is negligible from my point of view.

Get the forms from you OSK branches if you are interested to open a direct account with DMG. I am sure they will assist you willingly.

By going direct you already safe on the brokerage fees.

Conclusion

It is better to have a personal foreign share account so that you can trade easily in Singapore(STI), Hong Kong(Hang Seng) and also US(Dow Jones)

There are a few more investment houses in Singapore. It is not necessary to use DMG but i am using DMG and i am a happy customer. Yeah happy because all my Genting SP is under them! Haha!!

Yesterday i have sold my 1000 shares of MAXIS (6012) at 5.29 and made some coffee losses on it. The main intention of me selling away my MAXIS shares is to use the money to buy in more FAJAR (7047) or FAJAR-WA (7047WA).

My previous post on MAXIS was on MAXIS - Did not miss out on the fun on Maxis IPO listing

How much did i lost on MAXIS?

Buying price : RM5540.64
Dividend colleted : RM230
Selling price : RM5254.41
Lost on Maxis : RM5540.64 - RM(5254.41+230) = RM56.23

Basically the minor lost is nothing as compared to the potential that i see that FAJAR or FAJAR-WA will bring me. So i have decided to sell on my MAXIS and waiting for the right time to buy in more FAJAR and FAJAR-WA.

I have written 2 posts on FAJAR and FAJAR-WA. Feel free to refer back my previous postings.

FAJAR (7047) and FAJAR-WA (7047-WA)
FAJAR-WA added to my portfolio @ 0.52

Conclusion

Sometimes it is worth while to make such decision although it is not good to see that your investment is making a lost. A minor lost or major lost is still a lost.

After weighing on the positive, i am confident i can make back my RM50++ with Fajar or Fajar-WA.

Stay tune for more updates.

My post where i wrote on GENTING SP - Up and up and i just can’t stop! showed my average price for my GENTING SP.

Today, GENTING SP share price soar till $1.46! From my previous blog post this is roughly how much unrealized profit i am making from this baby dragon :-

Number of shares : 19300
Average costs per share : $0.842
Closing price on 13/08/2010 : $1.46
My profit per share : $(1.46-0.842) = $0.618
Total profit for 19300 shares : 0.618×19300 = $11,927.40
Total profit in RM : 11,927.40×2.3 = RM27,433.02

My unrealized profit is already more then RM 25,000 from this baby dragon which is GENTING SP.

The unrealized percentage of return for GENTING SP for my portfolio is more then 70% which is a very good ROI (Return of Investment)

There is 2 things in mind for me now for GENTING SP :-

Wait and see

Wait and see next week whether GENTING SP still have the energy to go a little more.

Sell some and sell all later

I can sell some next week and the balance of it i put it under my pillow waiting for GENTING SP to reach a higher note.

I will have 2 days to think about it during the weekend. All this happen just too soon but all in all it has been good to see GENTING SP rise so fast.

This week have been a tough week for me. Not an easy week as so many things happen suddenly to me especially in my relationships. Other then that it has been plain sailing and good. How i wish i just could share all these sweetness with her?

Nonetheless, for those GENTING SP faithful congrats as it’s showing some results to us. Mind sharing what will you do with your GENTING SP?

To my surprised it really hit $1.42 and the highest from what i am seeing now is $1.45

I am sure many of you are still holding it tight on this baby. I even called my remisier to confirm on what really happen that made Genting SP to soar so much today.

She told me that Genting Malaysia has bought all the bad assets of Genting SP and the target price for Genting SP is now put at $1.50

Anyway i am in a dilemma now whether to sell or to hold Genting SP a little longer because everything just happen so suddenly.

Nonetheless, it is still good news to all Genting SP shareholders! ^^

Inflation increasing daily but salary never increase in proportionate with inflation. It’s time to take some major steps on how you going to save RM700 a month directly or indirectly.

Handphone bill

Do not use prepaid. It’s more expensive usibg prepaid unless you only spend RM30 and below a month on phone calls.

Subscribe to postpaid plans which can cater to your needs.
Amount Save: RM50

Fixed line

Cancel the fixed line if nobody is using it. Almost everybody has a handphone now a days. Cancel it first before it collects dust at home.
Amount Save: RM30

Astro Packages

Cut down on packages or channels that you don’t watch. Those movie channels are a waste of money because they always repeat time and time again.
Amount Save: RM50

Streamyx or Broadband?

If you are using broadband services, just cancel your Streamyx package at home. You don’t need both unless you say you download movies everyday.
Amount Save: RM70

Eat at Home

Cook simple dishes and stay more at home. Eating outside is not cheap now a days. It’s getting more and more expensive. You won’t die not eating outside.
Amount Save: RM200

Use Economical Car

Buy car that does not consume petrol like water. MYVI or VIVA are good choices if you want to save on petrol. Not only that, maintainence is also low with these cars.

Anyway i am not here to discuss about politics as this is not a political blog. What that is worrying me more is that the political unstability in Malaysia that is chasing all the foreign investors to run away from Malaysia.

Malaysia can’t stand by itself without the support of foreign funds and companies. Malaysia should be encouraging more foreign companies to come and not chase them away with all the political dramas!

When will Malaysians grow up? How can we compete even with Singapore? Even we are lacking far behind from Vietnam now.

Conclusion

Politicians and those extremists should not jeopardize the future of the nation for their own gains. It’s all for us to loose if everybody thinks for themself.

This question is very subjective to different people. Different people will have different views on how much money they need to pronounce themself rich.

Basically, people will feel that they are rich if they are able to live a comfortable life without needing to work.

Some will say RM 10 million is needed to consider him or herself rich. There are some who say they make RM6,000 a month they are already rich.

One thing for sure, the desire for more money will not stop in ones mind.Generally people will go for more and more.

This is what i think personally how i will define myself rich :-

Able to live without needing to work. Mind you, quality life!

Will have enough money so that my wife also need not work

The money i have will be enough for my children education and upbringing

Able to travel and go for holidays with my family

Millionaire

The most important question. How much is that value? RM3 Million will be ample to pronounce myself rich

Why RM3 Million?

It is simple. With RM3 Million by putting and sitting it on the fixed deposit, one will roughly get around RM10,000 per month without needing to work.

With RM10,000 a month of money to spend without needing to work, i am pretty sure i will have a very good and quality life. What else can you ask more from life?

Life is not about working like a cow till old age. Pointless! We are in this world for a reason and the reason is not work and work and more work. It’s about spending quality time with your love ones and giving back to the society.

In my earlier post, i have stated that Fixed Deposit - The Silent Killer but if you have a large chunk of money like RM3 Million in it, i think it should be ample for one to have a good and quality life.

Conclusion

Money is important but money is not everything. I will stand by this statement regardless. So have you ever thought how much money is enough to call yourself rich? Better start thinking about this matter. It is important to set goals on how rich you want to be.

I am sure most of us have come across people telling us that money is not important. Just because they can’t make enough of money they will make such statements. Utter rubbish!

Anyway, I totally disagree when i hear people saying that money is not important. Money is important but it is not everything. That is a better phrase for us to define money.

Below are some examples that will show us that money is important but it is not everything :-

With money you can buy a house, but not a home.

With money you can buy a clock, but not time.

With money you can buy a bed, but not sleep.

With money you can buy a book, but not knowledge.

With money you can buy a doctor, but not good health.

With money you can buy a position, but not respect.

With money you can buy blood, but not life.

With money you can buy sex, but not love.

Conclusion

Most of the times, we can use money to buy tangible items but not tangible items like love, feeling and health can’t be bought with money. Always remember money is important but it is not everything.
