Easier making money from Genting Group than gambling in Genting Casino

I am sure many of you have heard this statement before, “Where have you been of late?” Visit my uncle at the hill. Visit my uncle at the hill surely means visiting the late Uncle Lim Goh Tong’s Genting Highlands.

Out of 10 gamblers that go up the hill, 9 will end up loosing and only 1 winner only. That main reason for most people to loose money on top of the hill is purely due to greed. Hard to control eh.

The best method to control the gambling habit is dont go to the hill. Genting Casino is not worried of you winning it’s money, but they are more worried you dont visit them!

How i know all this? Experience talk. Anyway, i am not here to encouraged people to try their luck at Genting Highlands Casino. It’s a bad habit anyway.

If you go there for leisure, then it’s fine. If you go visit your uncle on top of the hill to be rich, i am telling you will mostly end up disappointed.

What i want to share with you is that, investing in Uncle Lim’s companies is a much safer bet compared to going his home on top of the hill.

Companies like Genting Berhad, Resorts World (Malaysia) and Genting SP (Singapore) are those good counters that can be considered for investment.

For this companies to give good returns is never a doubt. The only thing you need is time and patience.

Thus far i have made some money from Resorts World (Will blog later on how much i made) and currently holding 2000 shares of Genting SP at the price of 0.59 SGD.

Conclusion

My 2 cents tell me that it’s much wiser to invest in Genting Group then go and try your luck in Genting Casino. Views and flames are much appreciated.

We can imagine Genting is just like an insurance company which is based on statistic calculation. It doesn’t matter because at the end, they will earn.

Yet we know majority of people is losing, but we still want to HOPE that we can be one of the minority one. That’s why you see there are still many people go for it. :)

May I know what the minimum invesment(in RM or SG) for genting right now??

As per 31st July 2009, Genting price closes at RM 6.50

The minimum number of shares you can buy for Genting is 100 shares.

So the minimum investment value is RM 650 = 100 shares

The RM 650 is not nett but you still need to pay some commission when you buy or sell your shares.

So it’s around RM 680 to RM 690.

    Hope that helps. ^^
