Casino de Genting

Friday, April 2nd, 2010 |

I went to the Genting Casino last week just to have a short break. To be honest, the last time i went to Casino de Genting was about one year ago.

During my student days, my friends and I were frequent visitors of Casino de Genting. As you know, University breaks are always very long. The place that always come to our mind is to go to Casino de Genting.

Education Ministry is wrong to drop Squash from MSSM calendar

Friday, January 15th, 2010 |

I am thoroughly pissed with the Education Ministry latest bombshell in the MSSM calendar. The ministry has slashed the yearly budget of RM 6mil to RM 1.5mil for 2010.

A few prominent sports got the chopped such like squash, bowling and archery. How can they make such decisions? We have World No. 1 Nicol David in squash, a bunch of world class bowlers like Shalin Zulkifli and archer Cheng Chu Sian who almost got us a medal in Beijing 2008.

Instead sports like soccer, Sepak takraw, tennis, netball get the nod instead of the elite sports that has been producing world class athletes.

Sports that got the nod :-

  • Artistic Gymnastics
  • Gimrama
  • Golf
  • Swimming
  • Athletics
  • Badminton
  • Netball
  • Basketball
  • Volleyball
  • Sepak Takraw
  • Football
  • Tennis
  • Hockey

Sports that got the chopped :-

  • Squash
  • Archery
  • Bowling
  • Table Tennis
  • Rugby
  • Cricket
  • Sailing
  • Softball
  • Handball
  • Cross Country
  • Chess

What so great about LAOS Sea Games Gold Medal in soccer?

Looks like soccer is the only sports indispensable no matter what sort of results Malaysia produce. I for once is happy that we won the gold medal in LAOS but what is there to be shout about? Winning a SEA Games gold medal in soccer does not make our country a respected nation for soccer.

Wasting text payers money on sending the national soccer team to training abroad and producing mediocre results is the story we have been listening for ages. So why soccer is still in the list? We will NEVER be world beater!

Sepak Takraw? This is a joke right? Can’t be true…

Oh my God! Ministry Education has given sepak takraw the green light to be listed in the MSSM calendar. We can’t even win the gold medal in SEA Games la… There isn’t any world class competition for this kind of sports as well.

No honors and no glory but government still support? What rubbish decision is this? Only a handful countries play this sports but we still can’t win and it is in the calendar? Haiz..

Volleyball, Netball and Basketball who?

Who on earth are our national players name? I don’t think many of us know any of the national players in this 3 sports!

Hockey also should be dropped!

Our hockey team has been producing rubbish results of late. Hockey all should be dropped. Enough said…

Squash shouldn’t be dropped

Hasn’t Nicol David done enough for the country? We have Azlan Iskandar and Ong Beng Hee as well who are professional and world class players. Not to forget Sharon Wee as well.

Nicol has been the World No.1 for the past 3 to 4 years and without doubt the best player on planet in the women category.

Archery, we are up and coming

I know who Cheng Chu Sian is. Although he missed out on a medal in Beijing Olympics 2008, at least our archers are world class! Archery is included into our ambitious road for London 2012 Oympics and the education ministry can’t see that burning desire? Does the people inside need a knock on their heads so that they can wake up?

Bowling oh Bowling!

Malaysia has won countless championship and medals in this sports and it has put Malaysia’s name on the world map. Our bowlers are also world class noticeably Shalin Zulkifli. Like that also not enough?

Conclusion

It is about time when Malaysia wakes up from its slumber and make decisions based on merits and not other reasons. If we can’t even make such decision in sports, what about bigger things?

I am sure most of you are angry with such decisions but what can do Malaysians do? Always the top people makes the rakyat blood go up the stairs!

I really hope they will do something on this matter. Very angry indeed…

People only respect you if you have money

Sunday, January 10th, 2010 |

That is the sad truth about life. Majority people only will respect you if you have money. When you have no money, people will look at you in a different way or manner.

I am sure you have seen many incidents where rich people will get special treatment from others. Even when the rich farts, people will say that the fragrance from their fart is good in smell. Isn’t that funny?

When you are rich people will do anything for you. You just need to snap your fingers. Of course those hyenas are not doing it for free as they are expecting something in return from you. No free lunch in this world remember?

This is the face of life where you can never run away from. Most people measure people by what car you drive, how big is your house or how many factories do you have. Money is used to measure almost everything instead of the heart.

Anyway, that’s how most people think but i beg to differ. Maybe like most of my friends call me, i am naive and not well exposed to the world yet.

Not only the public look at how much money you have. Even family members tend to sway to look and measure their own people on how much money they have. I am not surprised at all this because even my relatives look at me on how much money i have or how well i am doing.

Of course my parents and sister don’t look at me like that. The family members i mean are like my cousins, nephews, aunties, uncles and etc. Of course not all of them but there are some like that.

It does not mean that i am not working outside i am in a bad financial state. That’s how most of the people conclude about me.

Luckily my closest family members and close buddies didn’t make such assumption and respect me as a person on how much money i have. They respect and love me for the person i am. That’s one thing i really appreciate and will always remember.

Conclusion

We can’t run away from this fact that money plays an important role in how people look at you in this modern and realistic world. Pick your friends wisely and appreciate your family members that support you all the way.

Friends and families that looked at money first rather then your person you must know how to draw a line on how much you be friend with them. Choose wisely and never ever let money blind you over!

Davis Cup - Spain retains title defeating Czech Republic

Saturday, December 5th, 2009 |

Many will be wondering, what on earth is Davis Cup Tennis doing on an investment blog? Anyway, i will be putting Spain victory over Czech Republic in the Davis Cup competition under the Ramblings in categories.

I for one put a lot of interest in this years finals as my favorite player is playing. He is none other then Rafael Nadal. I just don’t know why i don’t like Roger Federer. Sorry to all those Fed-ex fans out there.

Anyway, Spain easily retained their Davis Cup title and winning it for the fourth time out of seven finals appearances.

I guess it is a sweet end to Rafael Nadal season as he had a mixed year in 2009. Nadal gave Spain the early kick start when he defeated Tomas Berdych 7-5 6-0 6-2.

The turning point for Spain came when David Ferrer came back from 2 sets down to defeat Radek Stepanek 1-6 2-6 6-4 6-4 8-6.

The wining point for Spain came from the doubles when the combination of Fernando Verdasco and Feliciano Lopez defeated Radek Stepanek and Tomas Berdych 7-6 (9-7) 7-5 6-2.

Congratulations to Spain and Vamos Nadal! ^^

Celcom major breakdown - I almost change my phone

Thursday, September 24th, 2009 |

My friends had trouble getting to me. I couldn’t call my friends. My phone network is searching all the time. I even took my mothers phone to try my sim card on it. I thought it was my sim card problem and finally made a conclusion that i need to change my phone!

I thought my phone was a goner! Guess what, after reading through Lowyat.net, my worries is all but gone. It is confirmed that Celcom user around Malaysia is having connection problem as well.

I wanted to call the Celcom customer careline 1111 but couldn’t get through as well because the network was down. Calling 1111 from our mobile is free.

After couldn’t get through i was finding other alternatives to get to customer care and found out that i can get connected to them by calling 1300 111 000 (Not free with a 30 cents charge per minute). Luckily i didn’t call as i check Lowyat.net on time.

Now the thruth is out that Celcom is having major service breakdown. My phone is in good condition and i wouldn’t need to change my phone.

So when will they fix the problem? Still unknown as the Celcom Call Centre has also crashed due to the high traffic volume.

Find a job the David Rowe way

Thursday, September 24th, 2009 |

Ever wondered what is the easiet way to get a job? Think no more as David Rowe shared with us on the best way to get a job! David Rowe is a graduate desprate for a job went walking around Central London with a sandwich board asking to be hired.

David Rowe was so desprate that he told would be employers that he will work for free the first month or work for the first month and then get fired in the second.

With increasing debts, David Rowe failed 40 job interviews. It was surely disheartening to be rejected that many times.

Anyhow, with his daring move, David Rowe did manage to find a job with Parkhouse Bell. Mr Walker of Parkhouse Bell likened David Rowe boldness of his act. Mr Walker also likes Rowe’s ability to put his pride on his chest.

So for those of you looking for a job and are still jobless until now, waste no time and get yourself a sandwich board and hang around you neck. Go to the extend of working for free for the first month.

Do not be picky with your job selections as it’s getting tougher and tougher to find good jobs now a days. Give it a try and you might just land a job like how David Rowe did!

Reasons why ah long will stay forever in Malaysia

Friday, July 17th, 2009 |

When i read the latest article from The Star, minister vows to wipe out ah long menace, i was saying to myself, it is another talk and no action by the minister. Of late, loan shark in Malaysia is taking the spotlight. Loan shark or better known as ah long has been creating fear to the public. Those who borrow money from ah long, but couldn’t return is being tortured and even caged in toilets for weeks.

Many has been shouting and screaming their lungs out for the enforcers to take initiative to go after this ah long. Action will be taken but ah long business in Malaysia will never diminish.

Education in Malaysia is suffering like cancer

Thursday, July 9th, 2009 |

Once again, our Education ministers did another flip flop on their education policies. Teaching maths and science is going to be revert back to Bahasa Malaysia. The main reason for the change is because they didn’t achieve their objective. Maths and science started using English in year 2003.
